Line and Honey is a brand created out of a need to amp up the self-care in a busy, ambitious and fast-paced world. Focused on feeling visible and feeling well (within ourselves and our minds), all of the creativity that comes out of Line and Honey is done so with the intention of using art to be mindful and relaxing, focusing on the visibility and unapologetic attitude of women of colour.
Digital art and hand-screen printed cotton pouches feature illustrations that are minimal and line based in nature. Art prints on sale, client commission work and the illustrations drawn for use as personal mindfulness practice all utilise as little detail as possible to illuminate a full picture.
Inspiration is drawn from a neutral but warm colour palette, urban botanicals and ceramics. Work from line & honey has been exhibited in London, and has been featured in Buzzfeed.
The below manifesto is a representation of our values, and what we want you to take from line & honey. Beyond our illustrations and designs, we want to create a space for you to feel like a ray of sunshine.
Amberlee, the founder behind line & honey is a self-taught illustrator, who fell back in love with design in 2016 whilst completing her psychiatry MSc degree in London. She has spent the last eight years working as an adviser in mental health within the education sector and continues to do so, but the need to relax and unwind creatively instigated the creation of her brand, line & honey! It is driven by her passion for illustration and striking but minimal aesthetics.
Consistently inspired by natural textures, warm colour palettes and the continual glow of the black woman, she focuses on illustration, design and textile based products.
